The great Bhadohi crafts society (GBCS) Bhadohi (Sant Ravidas Nagar), an organization established mainly for the upliftment of rural artisans, educated and unemployed youths of these area, as the avenues for salf employment through individual setup is not progressing , the principal of cluster formation under deferent SHGs to boost cooperation among different individuals to foster working in groups for more productivity.
The organization was sanctioned AHVY scheme in the year 2006-07 for formation of 20 SHGs covering at Gyanpur block district SRN Bhadohi . Through this scheme, the organization has trend the artisans in skill up- gradation training program and also developed new through design and technical development workshop. Through this program were market through exhibition at the different place. The results were increasing and the artisans are happy by participating in all these program and taking keen interest in all these activities. Their income has increased tremendously. The main requisite for becoming a members is insuring their life through Jan Shree Bima Yojana groups insurance scheme icici Lombard health and accidental insurance scheme. Intersting ,earlier no one venture to become part of these scheme but now members come to us to become members.

The Great craft society (GBCS) is a NGO working for development handicrafts and handloom sector in the state since 8 year. Since incepting the NGO has been provided financial assistance by O/o the development commissioner (handicrafts) ministry of textiles Govt. of India New Delhi under various scheme (AHVY) Ambedakar hastshilp Vikas Yojana.
